Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using CoPact ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Description of service

CoPact is an iOS application that helps users manage screen time through app blocking, pacts (alone or in a crew), and usage analytics. The app uses Apple's Screen Time framework to enforce blocks at the operating system level.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use CoPact. By using the app, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you should have parental consent.

4. Accounts

You may create an account with an email address and password, Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information and to update it as needed.

5. Crews

A crew is up to 20 people in all who block their phones together. Creating or joining one needs an account.

  • Everyone in a crew sees the crew's name and each member's display name. Anyone who opens one of its invite links sees the crew's name and the display name of the person who shared it.
  • Do not give a crew, or yourself, a name that is offensive, hateful, sexually explicit or harassing, or that pretends to be someone else, and do not use a crew to harass anyone.
  • You can report a member under Members, or the whole crew from the crew's menu. A report goes to CoPact only, and the person or crew you report is not told.
  • The crew's owner can remove a member under Members while no pact is running. Anyone can leave a crew, and someone in a running Strict pact leaves once it ends.
  • CoPact may rename or delete a crew, remove someone from it, or suspend or delete an account that breaks these rules.

6. Subscriptions and payments

CoPact requires an active subscription or trial to access the app. Monthly and yearly subscriptions include the same features and are managed through Apple's App Store:

  • Eligible new subscribers receive a 7-day free trial before the selected paid period begins.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple per their refund policy.

Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.

7. App blocking disclaimer

CoPact uses Apple's Screen Time APIs to block access to apps. A Strict pact cannot be ended early by design. By choosing Strict, you acknowledge and accept that you will not be able to access blocked apps until the pact completes (or, for a crew pact, until a vote ends it). CoPact is not responsible for any inconvenience caused by voluntary use of Strict.

8. Intellectual property

All content, design, and code within CoPact are owned by CoPact and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the app.

9. Limitation of liability

CoPact is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to inability to access apps during Strict pacts.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to CoPact at our discretion if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app's Settings.

11. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
