Blocking not working?

One refresh resolves most of it. If it does not, the permission underneath has usually been withdrawn.
  1. Tap the gear on the Home tab.
  2. Help & Support, then Refresh blocking system.
  3. In iOS Settings, check Screen Time access for CoPact.
  4. Open CoPact once.

Charged, or want to cancel?

CoPact sends a notification two days before the first charge. Apple handles the money.
  1. CoPact Settings, then Account.
  2. Manage subscription opens your Apple Account.
  3. Refunds: reportaproblem.apple.com.

When it does not block.

My apps are not being blocked. What now?

One refresh resolves most of it. If it does not, the permission underneath has usually been withdrawn.

  1. Open Settings from the gear at the top of the Home tab.
  2. Tap Help & Support, then Refresh blocking system.
  3. Still not blocking: check Screen Time is granted in iOS Settings, under Screen Time, and grant it again if it was withdrawn.
  4. Open CoPact once afterwards, so it writes the block back.

What happens if Screen Time permission gets turned off?

Blocking stops, because that permission is what lets any app shield another. CoPact reads Screen Time access is off on its tab bar until you grant it again, and nothing else is lost: your pacts, crews and lists are all still there.

One app still opens. Why?

Either it is in Always Allowed, or the pact is blocking a list that app is not on; open Apps to Block on the pact and check which one it is. A handful of system apps, Phone among them, iOS refuses to let any app block at all.

Does it survive a restart or an iOS update?

Yes. The block lives in Apple’s Screen Time frameworks rather than in a running app, so it holds through a force quit and through a restart. After a large iOS update it is worth opening CoPact once, which writes the current state back.

Does blocking survive closing the app?

Yes. CoPact uses FamilyControls, ManagedSettings and DeviceActivity, which run at the system level, so a block holds whether the app is open, backgrounded, force quit or the phone has restarted.

How does the Emergency Pass work?

It opens everything for one hour, under Strict and Flexible alike, and it also turns Password Protection off and deletes your PIN. Every pact is standing again when the hour ends, and the next pass is seven days from the moment you redeemed this one.

  1. Open Settings and scroll to Advanced Protection.
  2. Tap Emergency Pass.
  3. Hold to Redeem.

Subscription and billing.

What does it cost?

7 days free. Then $4.99 a month · $29.99 a year. There is one tier: everything in the app is in it, and there is nothing further to buy.

Will I be told before the trial is charged?

Yes. CoPact sends a notification two days before the first charge. Leave notifications on: without them it cannot send it, and the paywall does not make the promise.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Billing is Apple’s throughout, so the cancelling happens in Apple’s own sheet. You keep access to the end of the period you have paid for.

  1. Open Settings and scroll to Account.
  2. Tap Manage subscription, which opens Apple’s sheet.
  3. Cancel there.

I reinstalled and my subscription is gone.

Restoring puts it back, as long as you are signed in to the same Apple Account that bought it. The paywall carries the same Restore in its footer.

  1. Open Settings and scroll to Account.
  2. Tap Restore purchases.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are Apple’s to give, not ours: ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple Account that paid. Write to support as well if the app is the reason, because that is worth fixing.

Your terms.

What is the difference between Flexible and Strict?

Flexible is take breaks, edit or delete anytime. Strict is no breaks, and no editing or deleting while it is active: it ends when its timer does, or, in a crew, by a vote of the people in it.

How does a break work?

On a Flexible pact, Take a break asks which app you need and how long, on a wheel that runs from 1 to 20 minutes. The apps lock themselves again when it ends, and the break spends the pact’s own time rather than extending it. The button on the block screen needs notification permission; without it you take the break from inside CoPact.

Can I really not get out of a Strict pact?

Correct. Strict has no breaks, no edits and no early end, and it ends when its timer does, or, in a crew, by a vote of the people in it. The Emergency Pass is the one door: one hour, once a week.

Can I change a pact while it runs?

A Flexible one, yes: the apps, the times and the days are all still yours. A Strict one cannot be edited while it is running, and a crew pact of either kind is fixed once it starts. Strict is also one way: on a schedule or a limit, Strict can’t be turned off while that pact exists.

How do I end my own pact early?

A Flexible Quick Block offers End Quick Block and a press you hold. A Flexible Schedule or Limit offers Pause Pact instead. Under Strict neither is available, and the timer or the Emergency Pass is the only way out.

Crews.

What is a crew?

A crew is up to 20 people in all, you included, who block their phones together. In a crew pact, every phone that’s in gets the same block for the time you agreed. You can be in up to three crews.

How do I start a crew?

Crews need an account, so CoPact asks you to sign in first. Blocking on your own never does.

  1. Open the Crews tab and tap Start a crew.
  2. Under Who they are, pick one of ten, from Mates to Club. The crew takes that name, and you can type over it.
  3. Tap Create crew, then Invite to bring people in.

How do I invite people?

Open the crew and tap Invite. Share the link, let someone next to you scan the QR code, or tap the code under it to copy the link. Everyone needs their own CoPact. New people get 7 days free.

Does an invite link stop working?

Not on its own. Every link stops when the crew’s owner taps New link, and yours stops if you leave the crew or the owner turns off Invite others.

Someone invited me. How do I join?

Tap their link and CoPact opens on the crew. Tap Join the crew. New to CoPact? Sign in, allow Screen Time and start your 7 days free, and you’re in. With a code instead:

  1. Open the Crews tab and tap Join with a link.
  2. Type the code under Invite code, or tap Scan QR code.
  3. Tap Find crew, then Join the crew.

A full crew can’t take anyone else until someone leaves.

How does a crew pact work?

A crew pact blocks every app except your Always Allowed ones, on every phone that’s in, for 5 minutes up to 8 hours. Tap New Pact, then Crew pact, and start it now, plan it for later or repeat it every week. Anyone in the crew can join while it runs with Join pact. Plans open once a second person is in the crew. Members can start a pact now unless the owner turns off Start pacts now, and planning ahead is the owner’s unless they turn on Create & edit schedules.

I said I’m in for a planned pact. Can I back out?

Yes, until it locks: 15 minutes before a Strict start, or at the start of a Flexible one. Open the plan from its card and turn off Your participation. On a weekly pact, Skip takes you out for one week. Planning a pact locks nobody: your phone locks only if you’re in.

Can one person end a crew pact for everyone?

On Flexible, whoever started it can end it for everyone, and anyone can leave whenever they like. On Strict, nobody can leave once they’re in. It ends on its timer, or when more than half of the people still in it vote to end.

How does the vote work?

Anyone in a Strict crew pact can propose ending it, and that counts as their vote to end. Everyone else picks Vote to end or Vote to stay in, on the crew page or from the Lock Screen. Votes are final, and the pact ends once more than half of the people still in it have voted to end.

What does my crew see?

Your name, and what you do in crew pacts: joining, leaving, a break and how long it was, an Emergency Pass, your vote and whether you kept it. Never which apps you block or use.

Does everyone in a crew need to pay?

Yes. The block runs on each person’s own iPhone, so everyone in a crew needs their own CoPact. New people get 7 days free first.

How do I leave a crew?

Open the crew, tap More, then Leave crew. During a Strict pact you’re in, leaving waits until it ends. If you own the crew, it passes to the person who has been in it longest. The owner can remove someone under Members while no pact is running, and can delete the crew when nothing is running or planned.

What does kept together mean?

A crew pact is kept together when two or more people stay in it to the end. Each one goes in the crew’s Album, and a month with two or more gets its own story on the 1st.

Getting started.

What do I need to run CoPact?

An iPhone on iOS 26.5 or later. Everything runs on the phone itself: there is no Mac app, no browser extension and nothing to install on your router.

Why does it ask for Screen Time permission?

Screen Time is the only way iOS lets one app block another, so CoPact asks for it during setup and can block nothing without it. If you tapped Don’t Allow, switch it on in iOS Settings under Screen Time; CoPact reads Screen Time access is off on its tab bar until you do.

How do I choose which apps get blocked?

Every pact has an Apps to Block page. Pick All Apps to block everything except your Always Allowed ones, or pick one of your own lists: Distracting comes with the app, and New App List makes another. The apps inside a list are chosen in Apple’s own picker, up to 50 apps and 50 websites at once.

Does CoPact know which apps I blocked?

No. Apple’s picker hands it opaque tokens rather than names, so CoPact can count your blocked apps and shield them without ever learning what they are. That selection stays on the device.

How do I start a pact?

New Pact is the plus at the end of the tab bar, and it opens on five kinds. Crew pact is the first, and puts every phone in the crew under the same terms.

  1. Tap New Pact and pick Quick Block to block right now, Schedule to block at set times, or Time Limit or Open Limit to cap one app’s time or opens.
  2. Open Apps to Block from the pact’s apps row, and pick All Apps or one of your own lists.
  3. Set its time, and turn the toggle on for Strict instead of Flexible.
  4. Hold to Start for a Quick Block, or Hold to Create for a Schedule or a limit.

What counts as a pact?

Five kinds: a Crew pact that blocks with your crew, a Quick Block that blocks right now, a Schedule that blocks at set times, and a Time Limit or an Open Limit that caps one app’s time or opens. You set the terms up front, and we hold you to them.

Which apps stay open no matter what?

The ones in Always Allowed, a folder under Apps on the Pacts tab, not in Settings. That list holds under every pact, bedtime included. Separately, there are system apps iOS never lets anything block, Phone among them, so calls keep working whatever you set.

Schedules and limits.

How do schedules work?

Set a start, an end and the days under On these days, and iOS runs it from then on. The shortest window is 15 minutes, and a window that ends before it starts is treated as overnight.

What is the difference between a Time Limit and an Open Limit?

A Time Limit is a daily budget of minutes in one app. An Open Limit is a daily budget of times you may open it, each open lasting the length you set. Both cover a single app, and both refill at midnight.

How does bedtime work?

Set your sleep hours, and past your bedtime the Home card offers Start protection: every app but your Always Allowed ones is shut until your wake time, with no breaks and no early ending. Bedtime is one of seven hours between 20:00 and 02:00, wake is anywhere from 04:00 to 12:00, and the default is 22:00 to 08:00.

Does a schedule run if I never open the app?

Yes. The schedule is set in your iPhone’s Screen Time rather than run by a timer inside CoPact, so it starts and ends on time with the app closed, force quit, or the phone freshly restarted.

Account and privacy.

Do I need an account?

Only for crews, where the people in one have to be able to see each other. Blocking on your own never asks you to sign in, and when you do you can continue with Apple, with Google, or with an email address and a password.

What leaves my phone?

Your account profile, crew activity, purchase records, crash reports and, only if you agree, usage analytics. Which apps you picked, and the blocking itself, stay on the device.

Does it route my traffic anywhere?

No. The block is written to Apple’s Screen Time frameworks on the device, so there is no VPN, no proxy and no configuration profile to install.

How do I delete my account?

It removes your account, your synced profile and your seat in every crew, and your name comes off the crew feed rows you wrote. It does not stop billing, so cancel the subscription first.

  1. Cancel the subscription first, under Account, Manage subscription.
  2. Open Settings and scroll to Account.
  3. Tap Delete account, and confirm.

What iOS does not allow.

Why can’t CoPact show which apps I use?

iOS hands CoPact your picks as sealed tokens, so it cannot read an app’s name. That is also why your crew never sees your apps.

Why did blocking stop after I changed Screen Time settings?

Turning off Screen Time access for CoPact in iOS Settings stops every block at once. Turn it back on and open CoPact once.

Does it work on iPad or Mac?

No. CoPact runs on iPhone with iOS 26.5 or later; the Screen Time frameworks it needs are on iPhone.

Still stuck?

Three things make the answer quick: your iOS version, what you expected, and what it did instead.

From inside the app

Settings, Help & Support, Report a problem. It attaches diagnostics, never the apps you block.
